Why we don't have a native app

Apple and Google both restrict real-money casino apps to operators with a Canadian provincial gaming licence — that means AGCO iGaming Ontario, BCLC (British Columbia), Loto-Québec, ALC (Atlantic Canada) or SIGA (Saskatchewan). Betty runs on offshore licensing, so neither store will list us. Rather than ship a side-loaded APK (which we consider a security anti-pattern and a phishing vector), we invested in a Progressive Web App that runs inside the browser but installs to your home screen like a native app. It's the same approach every reputable offshore-licensed operator serving Canada uses.

Anyone offering you a "Betty CA APK" over Telegram, WhatsApp or a random forum is phishing — we do not distribute any binary outside our own bettyca-casino.com domain. Report it and delete the file.

How to install our PWA

Install on iPhone / iPad

1. Open Safari — not Chrome, because "Add to Home Screen" is a Safari-native feature on iOS. (Chrome on iOS uses the same WebKit engine, but the install flow lives in Safari's share sheet.)
2. Type bettyca-casino.com into the URL bar and load the site.
3. Tap the Share icon — the square with an upward arrow at the bottom-centre of the screen.
4. Scroll through the share sheet and pick "Add to Home Screen".
5. Leave the name as Betty (or edit it) and tap Add in the top-right corner. The Betty icon appears on your home screen and opens full-screen, no browser chrome.

Install on Android

1. Open Chrome — or Samsung Internet, or Firefox for Android. All modern Android browsers support PWA install.
2. Type bettyca-casino.com into the address bar and load the site.
3. Chrome usually pops an "Install app" banner along the bottom automatically. Tap it. If nothing appears, hit the three-dot menu top-right and pick "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen".
4. Confirm with Install in the prompt.
5. The Betty icon lands in your app drawer and on the home screen. It launches like any other app — no URL bar visible.

What our PWA does

• Full slot catalogue: all 2,000+ Betty slots run identically to desktop — same RTP, same bonus round frequency, same C$ bet range from C$0.10. UI adapts to touch with larger spin buttons and collapsible paytables.
• Biometric login: Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone, fingerprint or face unlock on Android. Enable it from Account > Security > Biometric login. Speeds up sign-in when you're checking a bet in a short window.
• Push notifications: optional. We use them for bonus drop alerts, cashback delivery, session-time reality checks (part of our responsible-gambling toolkit) and KYC verification updates. Toggle each category from Account > Notifications.
• Cached lobby browse: the app shell and menu load offline, so you can open the Betty PWA on the subway and browse the lobby. Real-money play always requires a connection because every spin is server-side.
• Auto-update: when we ship a new service-worker version, your PWA updates in the background on next launch. No manual updates, no App Store approval delays.
• HTTPS security: the PWA runs under the same bettyca-casino.com HTTPS certificate as the website. It cannot be side-loaded via an APK — the only install path is from our domain, which is why we regard the PWA as the safer route.
• Same account as desktop: one email + password across iPhone, Android and browser. Balance, active bonus, KYC status and free spins all sync in real time.

Performance and data usage

Our PWA runs at 60fps on mid-range Android (Snapdragon 6-series and up) and every iPhone from SE-tier onwards. Slot animations, live casino streams and menu transitions all feel comparable to a native gaming app. Battery drain is in line with WhatsApp for slot play; live casino streaming is heavier (comparable to Netflix in HD).

Data usage after the initial ~3 MB payload and ~15 MB slot pre-cache: about 5 MB per session for slot play (server communicates spin results, not full assets each time). Live casino HD streaming pulls 150-300 MB per hour — flip to SD in your Betty account settings if you're on a metered plan.

Everything else — deposits, withdrawals, KYC uploads, chat with support — is comparable to any modern website.

Common install problems

• "Add to Home Screen" not showing on iPhone: make sure you're in Safari, not Chrome or Firefox. Chrome on iOS shares WebKit but not the share-sheet install flow. Also confirm you're running iOS 12 or later.
• Chrome "Install app" button doesn't appear on Android: Chrome only surfaces the prompt if it thinks the PWA isn't already installed. Clear the site cache from Chrome > three-dot menu > Settings > Site settings > bettyca-casino.com > Clear & reset, then reload the page.
• Biometric login not offered after install: biometric only shows up once you've signed in once with password. Log in normally, then go to Account > Security > Biometric login and toggle Face ID / fingerprint on. If your phone doesn't have biometric hardware enrolled, we won't offer it.
• Push notifications blocked: check your phone Settings > Notifications > Betty (or the browser hosting the PWA) and allow notifications. On iOS, also confirm you're on iOS 16.4+ — earlier iOS versions cannot receive PWA push at all.
